WHAT TYPE OF INFORMATION HAS BEEN INCORPORATED TO THE NATIONAL HYDROCARBON DATABASE?
The first phase incorporated to the BNDH close to 1,492 maps and drawings, 805 seismic profiles, 212 well logs, 321 files/reports, 209 “9-track” magnetic tapes and 3 “8-track” cassettes that contain seismic lines conducted in various regions of the country. This information, as well as new 2D seismic information requested of study centers abroad, has enabled the State to incorporate approximately 18,300 km of 2D seismic information to the BNDH. Thus represents an approximate value of US$100,000,000, an amount it would have cost the state, or new investors, taking into consideration the scenario of having to conduct the seismic studies from scratch in the corresponding regions, in addition to saving considerable time in developing the national oil industry.
